Key Features UPPER: high and surrounding ankle, made of natural leather, finished with a soft collar, reinforced edges of the foot, easy fitting. LACING: Velcro straps that tightens the whole upper, optimal adaptation to the individual foot width, protects against pressure and edema. STABILIZING BELT: tightening strap improves foot stability, helps to maintain proper heel alignment. TOE BOX: high and wide, provides proper position for the toes and unhampered toe movements. OUTSOLE: made of styrogum, improves traction and stability, anti-slip surface, built-in Thomas heel (Thomas heel is higher on the medial edge. These sandals are great! My kiddo has CP and wears AFOs. Where we live it’s too hot in the summer for braces with socks and shoes. He overheats and his feet get soooo hot! Could not be more pleased with this sandal! If your kiddo pronates or has sublimation you might want to buy the orange inserts to help align the ankle since the shoe bottoms are flat without support. They offer amazing stability and ankle support. Also customer service is great! We got a defective shoe and the buckle broke and they replaced itkids or young adults who need shoes like these usually have wider/thicker feet.the shoes fit in length but the straps are to short because her foot is so thick. the straps barley catch o nthe edge with alot of velcro exposed. and the shoe really needs to be wider.I just got these today, and wow! They hold my heels down better than my plastic AFOs- I have strong feet from toe walking and dance. I have very narrow heels and it is so hard to find anything that duck tapes my heels down.Only down side is I wish these had longer straps.A great alternative to my child having to wear his AFOs in the house. Such a relief to find something to keep his ankle stable without having to wear those awful plastic braces.Great find! But a bit pricey! Customer service was great! Return was easy! Replacement was easy! I trust this company to stand behind their product! However their shoes are awfully expensive!Needed new AFO’s since my daughter has grown out of her old ones during this pandemic and I don’t want her to lose the range in her ankles/feet. They look much better than the pics online. So far I am pleased with the fit and they seem to hold her feet in place comfortably.I’ve bought and used quite a few Memo shoes am very thankful to be able to find an AFO type shoe without a Dr. order. These have always help up well for the very tough wear my child gives them recently had a metal piece break on one after four months the of wear contracting amazin and thus the seller I was delighted to receive a new pair per“warranty” that they will stand behind defects for these expensive shoes makes it well worth the buy will continue to support Memo!My nephewExcellent product with firm support to the ankle.
